It was cooler than expected out of the water this morning with Northerly winds and gusts up to 27kms p/h. Although my phone was telling me it was 21 degrees outside it only felt like 15. The water was looking very choppy and unpredictable this morning but the good news was it was 19 degrees in the water. Why did I feel so cold this morning then? Was it just me or did anyone else feel it.
With the sun rising so early these days it has become harder to get those fantastic sunrise shots. Next week will be another story with daylight savings kicking on early sunday morning. So if you are swimming Sunday, remember to put those clocks forward so you don’t miss out.
I did manage to get a few sunrise photos although there was heavy clouds around.
I love all of these bright knits that have taken over manly. It brings a real sense of community having locals add those small touches to make manly unique.
The 6:30 swimmers head off
With so many different groups times setting off the 6amer’s pass the 6:30 group.
John B chatting with Midge after checking the beautiful water temp this morning.
Annie & Arabella taking advantage of the warmer mornings and lighter starts fitting in some extra training before their swim.
Baywatch visited Manly Beach this morning. The Hoff doing an impersination of Shaun
Fun is always had when you get up early to join the B&B Swimmers.
Kisses and hugs are always on the cards. What else would get us all of bed early every morning.
What is going on here Bella. Is that an up and down look you are giving Nick?
Even the guys are happy to give each other a man hug, well just a shake this morning.
Some prefer to interact virtually. (just kidding Mariah, you know we love ya.)
Looks like I am trouble. Oh, so serious Richard.
There are still cuddles going on even as we enter the water.
Damn you Stephen.
I see you don’t like getting wet before you need to Stephen. You’d better look out.
Attracta looking oh so attractive. (sorry attracta i couldn’t miss an opportunity)
Gary taking on the rougher seas this morning.
Thinking this is Richard cutting his way through the seas over to Shelley
John B, Lindsay and Sparkles putting in the extra effort to keep warm while waiting at Shelley.
and off we go
Sorry guys, didn’t get much underwater activity today so it’s just the Port Jackson.

What a lovely blog report. You certainly were up early! Nice to see all the groups today even the Lemur Run.
I thought the water visibility was strangely clear for such choppy surf and dull light. It was beautiful.

All the groups? Really??
I just learned of a new (yet to be named) group, starting at 5:30. Currently consisting of just one swimmer plus the occasional pod of dolphins.
Anyone interested in joining Shaun, aka DWSS, for his, yet to be named, 5:30 Run?
Also, I would like to invite all swimmers to submit creative ideas for a suitable name for Shaun’s 5:30 group.
You’re welcome Shaun!
PS: While you’re at it, please do also submit ideas for today’s blog title.

Yes, I did say ALL the groups. Shaun is featured in photo 6, so yes, complete representation.
His group already has a name, the NF Squad. There is often a friendly Liaison with the Bold Lemurs, so as he doesnt get too lonesome….

I was cold too as I was the 3th person to get to Shelley (has never happened before!) and had to wait there :). I actually wrote a message in the sand before the swim, took a photo of it and emailed it overseas to someone. I enjoyed the choppy swim. See you all Thursday!

It is cold and it felt like we were waiting forever at Shelly today. I love writing messages in the sand. It always lifts people’s spirits..I can’t swim until Friday now so I might see you then.

Actually Fi, it is the No Friends run until someone else joins me then the new name is the 530am Phantom run.
This time slot only runs this week due to day light savings but,
I have done some research and named it the Phantom run after the phantom of the opera.
A song in this production has the lyrics ” past the point of no return” which I thought appropriate although JK will cut some corners and read this as just going past the point!
There you have it –
530am The Phantom run
600am the Lemur run
630am Drinks Express
659am The 659ers (original name Lippy, well thought out) haha
Oh and some randoms go at 7am as well.

Oh yes, great blog Renae.
Well thought out and executed. I thought you went. A bit far with the Hoff thing though.
We are so different,
1/ I did the short hair thing to improve my streamline under water
2/ He had red budgies vs my black BandB budgies
(great cossies as well for anyone interested. Plug for Jules always goes down well)
3/ ummmmmmm nope that’s it.

I noticed that you like writing in the sand too! I usually wrote messages for people’s birthdays and then text/email it. See you Friday
