Musings from ….
It was bloody cold this morning……6 degrees at Cammeray and & 7 degrees at Manly……
Cold enough to ‘freeze a badge of a winter B&B er….!’
The Drinks crew was a little light on for numbers, but lucky us …the outside air temperature was making it’s magic under the waters of Cabbabage Tree Bay, with warm currents a plenty, as we swam toward Shelly. It has been a magnificant week of winter swimming.
Some comments made and heard this week
GETTING INTO THE WATER
‘Jeeezzzzz it’s freezing …’
Operatic style ‘Arggghhhhh……..'( mainly me …I am working on not doing it)
‘ It’s tepid….’
IN THE WATER
On arrival at the point this morning
‘ That is the hard bit done !’
and
‘It’s like swimming in a glass of water!’
‘I love winter swimming, it is beautiful, it’s the best!’
‘I feel like I am on holidays on an island somewhere.’
‘Gosh we are lucky’
COMING OUT OF THE WATER
‘ I can’t believe how warm it is ?’
‘ Can I log that as a winter swim, it was so warmmmm?’
‘ You never regret a swim!’
IN THE LADIES CHANGE ROOM
‘ Move over Midge…..!’
CONVERSATION OF THE WEEK
Jen C said ‘ The water is so clear it’s like a movie set, I can’t believe it …it is magical …’
I said ‘ I know, I can’t believe it, every time we swim,we say how amazing it is, and we never get bored !!!’
Jen said ‘I know we get to look at the world with wonder and awe, every time we swim!!’
And finally …
Just recently landed on the perfect answer, when you tell someone that you are swimming through winter…..
They say ‘ I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU SWIM IN THE OCEAN IN WINTER!!!’
I say ” I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU DON’T!!!’
Thanks to the Cammeray Crew for most of the comments, the car rides, the laughs …and the winter swimming
Happy Saturday…..Barb
JK’s amazing guesstatistics !!!
Swimmers: ’bout 200

The cost of the dinner is great value at only $25 a head, which includes shared entrees, and a selection of mains to choose from (including a vegetarian option). Glasses of beer or wine and desserts are also available at the special price of only $5 each. Numbers are limited, so bookings are essential: To avoid disappointment and secure your spot please book HERE.

I nearly didn’t swim…predictions of cold and swell threatened to turn me into a cowardy custard. So glad I ignored my inner whinger and chose to be a cold power ninja… thanks Blogger Barb
PS you don’t get to a Sparkly 2000 by rolling over.
And happy birthday Ian
