Today was the day to switch off the autopilot. Amazing how life can provide you subtle reminders that your routines – like strolling up to the attendance list – can go AWOL!!
Confusion spread across faces as the absence of the attendance list registered with each slightly sleepy central cortex. Ian was missing too. . .
We of the Login App didn’t notice at first. Much too busy with the morning hellos and checking out the swirling surf.
So, we estimate that there were 101 swimmers today. The water was indeed wet with the collective guesstimate being around 20.2 (ish).
The churning waves were a bit of a challenge on the way to the point. With them breaking close to the rocks the point meeting did feel a bit like it was half way to NZ!!
And it was a fine swell! Full of pummelled weed and churned up sand, but glorious sunlight above.
Our fearless leader Jules gave both of the Let’s Go’s today – just like old times. . .
Not a lot happening below the surface, except for this huge wobbegong just off Shelly.
and a couple of its mates.
otherwise, very churned up water.
The group divided for either a half-way or through the surf for the return journey.
Amazing how the waves then look so tame from the shore.
Have a great day and don’t forget to slip, slop, slap! The UV index is pretty high.

B&B Attendance Login App
Don’t be caught out – go with the App! Being an eco friendly mob, we are aiming to reduce our paper consumption by switching to the B&B Login App. The App has the benefit of providing you with a history of your swims. Log your swim between 5am and 9am for the easy way to ensure your swim is recorded in the daily attendance and on the Pacific Challenge.
To get started, please send an email to Ian Forster (ugoboyo@gmail.com). He will check that your email address is activated on the attendance register then send you info on how to get started. Happy clicking.
Summer badge swims are go!!
Summer Badge season is in go mode!! Every Saturday during summer there will be a 6km swim – usual route is to Freshwater and back, then once a month there is a 10km swim. Route depends on conditions that day so it is a good idea to arrive a little early to have a briefing from Squadron Leader John ‘007’ Bond. Lovely peaceful Halfway swim…. whatever one feels comfortable with on the day is best!
What is coming over Lesley these days? As pictured here – NO RASHIE!! AND, even though she doesn’t like long-distance swims, seems she did her 6K on Sat. Not!!!!

Thanks Mary Great blog – It was a really enjoyable swim! Few bumps.. bit of swell and then some friendly rock star molestation to finish it off…

A swell day indeed – well said Mary, and a lovely final shot of that wave at the point! How wonderful to feel that summer sunshine coming out.
I wonder if Toni J and Lainey are still sitting outside the hotel waiting for some rock star to re-emerge.

Thanks for the blog Mary – it was so murky today I didn’t know what was happening – so the blog filled in some blanks.
All I know is that we all gave the point a wide berth on the way in so we could get a wave in.
Lots of good interacting people shots and nice rolling wave photo at the end.

Awful morning..
First Ian goes missing. (anyone heard of him yet?)
Then, despite posing for at least 3 (!!) photos, I’m not making the final cut for Mary’s blog. Seriously, even the blurry Groper made it.
And to top it all off, Jack Johnson stealing my thunder, shamelessly posing for photos along Sth Steyne. Tell him to get a job!

Oh Lips. So sorry. The photo I took of you and Sarah outside the surf club was not the best.

Mary, remember our contingency plan?
We agreed to use one of my pre-approved stock photos in the (unlikely) event of my photos ever turning out bad.
I’ll send you my portfolio again..
