Mornin’ all. Inner Westies here. Happy NY to everyone! Fabulous start coming across Anzac bridge.

And team all together at last after summer trekking

We had at least three international swim champs today.
Real VIP – Daddy Rainer! aka Werner all the way from Germany.

Newby Holly from Liverpool UK! (with Sebastian from VIC)

My BAE from London!

And some gorgeous swimming cosies today – first from Marion!

Jenny looking pink

Lovely ladies at Shelly

Fab frock from Celia

And howdy to Angela from Adelaide

Let’s get swimming. It was gorgeous today. Summer at its best.

Hi Michael!

So many of us today. Look how crowded Shelly is!

And a GREEN cap. How did that happen ?!?

Back at the ranch…. hello to lovely Lisa, Daniel and Henrietta. Family gathering..

And another family – Shan and support team out for a swim

So all in all, a great summer swim. It doesn’t get better than this. And in case you were wondering what the police boat was doing hanging around Shelly all morning, the car that someone pushed (?) over the cliff at Queenscliff yesterday was caught swimming in Shelly and promptly removed (or something like that). Eyewitness photo of excitment!

So over and out from us. Lots of swimmers today and the water was 21.6. How gorgeous is that.
Summer Badges
There are now three badges available for those swimming in summer:
# 1: Saturday 5 December kicked off the 6 km summer badge swims. These are on every Saturday during summer.
# 2: There is one 10 km swim in December, February and March 2015/16. The first 10 km swim was on Saturday 12 December. Watch the blog for details of the second 10 km swim, to be held in February.
# 3: Our new badge, the Shelly Triple, involves a triple lap of Cabbage Tree Bay (i.e. swim to Shelly Beach and back to The Point three times – total 3.5 km). This swim can be completed any day and should be logged on the i-log system. Since this is designed for those who are unable (or unwilling) to do the longer swims, this badge is only available to those who haven’t completed a 6 km or 10 km swim during the season.
Really important with the big waves we’ve had recently! Staying safe
Remember that there are no badges for scaring yourself silly! While it is great to extend your boundaries, it is important to know your limits. Also, if you have a bit more experience, keep an eye out for new swimmers who might need company. Do read these excellent tips on staying safe in the surf. To read, or even download, click here.

Wonderful blog Emma. It was such a perfect swim this morning! The conditions were great, aside from the slightly murky water and having to dodge a Christmas tree. The water temperature was perfect and everywhere you looked there were happy smiling faces

Great blog Inner Westies, thanks for your efforts. Did anyone else see the duskie near The Point on our return ?

Yes! Was worried our duskie was the cause of the police boat seen at Shelly!
Sadly my camera skills weren’t quite enough to provide a decent photo. Next time!

Well done Inner Westies. Great to see Lips being photo bombed by a good looking German
If anyone found a pair of Navy Blue knee length Speedo’s in their bag near the entrance to the IRB garage, they would be mine. Would love them back as they won’t sell for much on E-Bay
Cheers Drinks

I might have them Drinky. There was a cosie on my bag when I left.
You will need to be the highest bidder though.
Great Blog Inner Westies.
I do enjoy your blogs.
For the record, we are now out of caps for the next few weeks.
