1-09-21: Is there anything better than first day of Spring?

A hot cuppa in bed is probably one thing…..!!!

But probably not when the sun is shining and the water is sparkling, flat and warm at Balmoral – 15.4 today! Up from 14.6 yesterday! Karen, JK, Clare, Jocelyn all ready for a swim!

The Mexicans (locked out of Manly on other side of the Spit Bridge) are coming up with ways to add some spice to lockdown life! Creating shapes in Balmoral waters. Today’s shape is brought to you by the letter L for Love heart!  (photo credit Jocelyn Webb)!

So far, contributors to the shape competition include Jocelyn (it was her awesome idea!), Clare, JK, Elizabeth, Karen and Lucy (me) . The comp is open to all Mexicans! Different times, different days – all in twos! The ones with the fancy gear which record the shapes are Jocelyn, JK and Elizabeth! The rest of us follow blindly! Like the shark. But not quite.

Prior to creating love heart shape attempt number two  (below you’ll witness Jocelyn & JK’s first attempt – eyes still bulging at JK’s first attempt 😳), we headed in the direction of Chinaman’s beach and spotted this divine bird sunning himself on 2021’s first day of Spring!  I asked the bird if there was anything better than the first day of Spring. He answered simply ‘No’.

Spotted some beautiful sun lighting up seaweed on way back to commence love heart shape expedition!

Bikini! Think it started off being something completely different, hey Jocelyn?

According to Jocelyn, this was actually meant to be a seal! I can see it! Though not in this photo! In Lainey’s photo from yesterdays blog! This is a pretty good Xmas tree though!

I love this shape of Elizabeth’s! It is the spitting image of a seahorse! Note how she has swum up and over the island to create this fabulous image!

And now for the piece de resistance! The groups second attempt today at a love heart on this first day of Spring in the land of lockdown (which quite clearly messes with ones’ heads):
