09/04/2014 – It’s all about the swim….

09/04/201415

One of the most lovely swims of the year and there have been many already!

Sunrise shot from Assistant blogger Little Sarah

Congrats to Midge on reaching 1000km’s on the Pacific Challenge!

“What do you think of the conditions James?”

Michael Apple-Bee – 1 more swim and he reaches 200 km on the PC!

Dr John – has fallen asleep on the job 😉

Waiting at the Point was magical..

Do you recognise yourself?

These fish have been around more the past few days –  I can’t remember their name?!

All proud of himself after last nights fun! Well done to Rainer (Lips) and Nick who brought the house down at last nights BnB Bluewater monthly dinner!

Etiquette # 4 – touching at Shelly – very much encouraged! 🙂

Stephen on the hunt for  a good photo!

Annie enjoying the warmer water and the slower return swim

The fish get all the airtime on the blog so I thought I would add these ‘sucking holey things’ – Jane??

Nice form of the new girl…

Not far to go…

The waves SEEMED big but were not dumpy – even I enjoyed them!

There is nothing trivial about the Trivia Night – Save the date!!

The next significant date in the B&B social calendar is the annual Trivia Night at the Steyne Hotel on Tuesday 6th May!  So save the date, gather your team, and start preparing to join the exclusive ranks of former Trivia Winners who have squared up to our very own quizmaster, John Kelly.  Theme to be announced soon. . .

If you would like to help out, we need some volunteers on the night.  Plus if you could donate items for team prizes, auction items or raffle prizes that would be great. Any goods or services will be most gratefully received, and the funds raised will go towards the B&B’s running costs. This year we will be joined by the Royal Far West who will be assisting in fundraising for the event, and will receive part of the funds raised on the night. For donations, please contact Ian (0142 331530 or ugoboyo@gmail.com)

Lesley, I couldn’t fathom your signoff selfie, but I eventually got it!. Nice armpits 🙂 Thanks to Rainer and Nick (and any others who helped) for the excellent entertaining presentation last night.

Oh my goodness, I’ve made it to ‘Assistant Blogger’ status! Thx Lesley for “Lesson 1: How to take a pic on my i-phone and mail it!”
Heavenly, relaxing, regular double with Elizabeth and group (thx!) ….
For me, that’s the key to it all – just staying relaxed and going at a comfortable pace – even through the waves.

    Great topic!
Looking forward to the ‘official’ notes and PP presentation from last night. Now I know one can just pop in for the talk with you, I’ll do that next time for sure!

That new girl has got beautiful legs 😉 The ‘Touchy Couple’ are Mike and Louise Stacey. Well done Louise on your first swim with the B&B in a year. You capture the swim well Lesbubbs in a short and simple blog. Mine will have to be short tomorrow as i am working at 8.50am and won’t get down to the swim until 7 as have to see Charlie off to camp. Click on the Flickr link though guys and i’ll post some photos of the amazing CUTTLEFISH i saw on Monday!

Yes, loads of Garfish all week! But Mark would love some good shots and esp. videos to confirm species. Very hard to photo, too fast.

I am still aching from laughing so much last night – funniest show for yonks. Youse 2 guys should do it professionally.

Ros’s sucky-holey-thing is an ascidian. There are lots of species and this looks like the Red-mouthed ascidian, Herdmania grandis, but it shouldn’t really be here. I’ll send the pic off to Stephen Keable at the OzMus to ID. Lovely pic!

“I’d highly recommend these two Outstanding Speakers to any group of friends who want to spend their Tuesday evening learning about swimming etiquette. THE USE OF PHOTOS! THE POWER POINT!
The lengths they went to – even seeking advice from Manly Council to report that it’s best to leave the benches by 4pm. VERY USEFUL TO KNOW!
One of my favourite parts of the night was how Prof Lips teamed his casual shark t-shirt with his mortarboard – so touching to keep it informal while delivering such an advanced presentation.”
