08/01/2013- Feeling hot, hot, hot!

With the temperature set to reach a massive 43 degrees in Sydney today, 217 Bold and Beautiful swimmers decided that the beautiful blue Manly ocean was the best place to be!

Although the media was forecasting ‘catastrophic conditions’ on land, it was anything but catastrophic in the water!

We had 22 newbies joining us this morning, including Jesse and Isla who were being shown ‘the route’ by Chris!

He must have done a pretty good job as all 3 of them made it to Shelly!

There were loads of swimmers this morning and as 7am crept closer, the masses started flooding down the ramp and into the water.

It may have looked pretty flat, but there were a few cheeky waves that made sure we were all awake!

There were pink caps everywhere…

Even on the TV! The helicopter that flew over this morning was filming for Sunrise so keep an eye out for yourself- fame at last!

Shelly was pretty crowded this morning, but there’s always room for more new swimmers. In fact, the 3rd new swimmer to sign up tomorrow will have the honour of being the 4000th Bold and Beautiful swimmer!

Rumours of a swimming group in Manly have reached the babies of the UK! 4 month old Macy is very advanced and has told her Auntie Sharon that when she saves up enough to visit from the UK, she can’t wait to swim with B&B, she’s already got the hat and pink swimwear, all she needs now is to get to this side of the world…!

I don’t think she’ll be our 4000th swimmer but we’re looking forward to welcoming you one day Macy!

After a little rest at Shelly and discussions about what had been spotted on the way over, the lack of jimbles and blueys etc, we were off again. Well, most people were off but a few had to finish their conversations, get prepared or generally chill out!

Of course, there’s always time for a spot of posing for the camera!

Or modelling the range of B&B swimwear that is available to purchase now!

I saw a Dusky but was too slow to get a photo and my underwater photographic skills are sadly lacking but I thought I’d better include these poor attempts! Despite these shots, there was lots to see today, especially by the point and along the rocks, we really are very spoilt.
