07/09/2012 – Magic Mornings

07/09/20127

113 Bold & Beautiful swimmers

We’ve seen it many times, the new fashions and latest innovations all start here at B&B, 7 o’clock in the mornings… but this is extra cute, Jonny putting on his makeup before the swim !!

Yet another superb morning, clear skies, warm morning and warming seas… which was confirmed when Lesley ran down with Michael’s thermometer just as we got out of the water.  Phew, that was close Lesley !!

An energetic entry from one of our first timers this morning, Mickey with his mate Joe

A slightly more sedate entry by most

and a bit of son-father ‘bonding’ between Sean and and his Dad, Andy

It was as beautiful below as above the water at the point this morning.  Lovely – calm and clear 🙂

Nothing surprises us anymore as we all know so many magical things happen while we’re out there on our morning swims… but fish that reverse your togs whilst your swimming… now that is impressive !  Ted didn’t feel a thing !

There were three beautiful Flathead all close together in the shallows at Shelly

and a happy birthday song for Ian Forster today.  Plus some beautiful cake to celebrate the occasion at brekkie thanks to Leisa 🙂  Happy birthday Ian x

Yep, that’s right, we’ve gotta swim all that way back now…

It’s always worth it !  This morning’s reward was a sighting of the nocturnal Blind Shark rummaging between the rocks at the point.  Unfortunately there was lots of sand moving around so the photos aren’t great.

Welcome back to Simon Cowell, the first of our Hawaii team to arrive back and to Jane Stevenson who is happy to be home after having a lovely holiday in Ireland.

14 swimmers enjoyed the early dawn lap at 6.30 and 3 continued on for a double after the regular swim.

Don’t forget Winter Badge Ceremony THIS SUNDAY !!!  Please come along for the Winter Badge Ceremony with a $10 brekkie at WHITEWATER straight
after the swim this Sunday, 9th Sept
!  Everyone is welcome… Bookings are essential though for catering purposes, so please book here asap, thank you.

‘The Flood’ is a new play now showing at Glen St Theatre until 15th September.  Thanks to Mary, Michael and I were lucky enough to see it on the opening night.  It’s an excellent play and very well done by the well acclaimed playwright Jackie Smith.  If you’d like to see this great play don’t forget to take advantage of our special B&B discount.  Mention B&B when you book online or phone the box office on 9975 1455 and pay only $49 per ticket incl a drink (tickets usually $58).

Talking of discounts, we have a new sponsor… Murray’s at Manly !!!  Murray’s would like to offer B&B a special night once a month 🙂    It will be the second Wednesday of every month.  So the first one will be next Wednesday, 12th Sept from 6.30pm where we can all show off our new badges over a cool glass of their exclusive Whale Ale 🙂

The deal is, all house beer and wine at happy hour prices plus some complementary nibbles to share.  We’ll be gathered at the back to the left of the bar, so please come down and enjoy a cool drink with your fellow swimmers.  You can stay for dinner too if you wish, as Murray’s are also offering B&B swimmers 10% discount on all food at all times when you show your B&B discount card (which you can get from me any morning at swimming).

Please don’t forget to support all of our fantastic sponsors and take advantage of the great discounts that are offered exclusively to us.  Some great opportunities for Christmas presents too – yikes it’s getting to that time already !

More on tour photos from Denise as she is swimming her way around Italy from Island to Island. Today’s delights are from Gardone Riveriera at Lake Garda and apres swim at Lago di Gardo.

Happy birthday to Ian Forster! Have a great day Ian.
Soo… I had marked next Wednesday for a drug and alcohol seminar at my son’s school, but now that cheap grog is on the cards at Murray’s, I’ve had to rethink that one 😉

Thanks girls for the birthday wishes. Perhaps we could have our own alcohol seminar at Murray’s on Wednesday. I could be the convenor. I’m sure someone will give us a demonstration of the effects of the demon drink.
