I am definitely planning to be a part of Saturday’s “Harbour Crossing’ with Murray Cox and Co. Count me IN. In the interest of coordination, my number is 0414758047. I have heard that water taxis have been suggested as a possible solution for return transport. I think this is a great plan and have no problem with the fare (which I understand to be around $27 per head for a fully booked boat of 5 persons)
A low tide of .69m occurs at 0903 and a high tide of 1.09m occurs as 1445. Not the major tidal change but certainly it would be good to enter the water on our side at a time approaching slack water. Anyone with any plans going feel free to give me a call.

HI Guys
ACROSS THE HEADS UPDATE:
I’ve just spoken with Murray, he is fine in principle with a 10.30am start from Quarantine Beach, he just needs to confirm with ‘his people’ and will get back to me this evening.
Draft plan so far:
Do the regular 1.5km 7am B&B swim followed leisurely coffee/brekkie at usual spot: Manly Wine
Hopefully there will be a volunteer to continue on and lead anyone who’s keen for this Saturday’s 6km summer badge swimmers… Any takers please ??
M
ake our own way to the car park at the top of the Q station for ~10am. Call the bus at the top and they will shuttle us down to the beach.
The Q station shuttle does a pick up in Manly at 10.30am but that wouldn’t get us to Q station beach until around 10.45am
Meet Murray and co. at Quarantine Beach as they will be arriving from the other side by boat.
We can put our clothes and money etc… on their boat (I hope :-)) as they will be accompanying us across the heads.
Depart the beach, starting the swim at 10.30am. Arrive at Camp Cove, wonder to Watson’s Bay for a lovely lunch, maybe the pub would be more suitable for all rather than Doyles… ???
Then book the water taxis to pick us up from Watson’s Bay at 2pm ???????
People will need to group together in groups of 5 to make the water taxi most affordable: $27each. I suggest this blog is the easiest way to do that so everyone knows what’s happening, whose coming, whose booking a water taxi and for whom etc….
Any paddlers or boats keen to join in on this exciting adventure ???
What does everyone think ????

Hi everyone!
I have just updated the tick sheet to make it a bit more manageable. It now includes everyone who has swum in the last three weeks. This is approximately 400 individuals!!! Which is quite amazing!! This does not include ‘one offs’ from Australia Day as the idea was to get the list a bit more manageable.
So if your name is not on the list it probably just means that you haven’t swum for a few weeks or [shock horror!]I have made a mistake.
If you have swum previously with B&B and your name is not there, write it [legibly] at the bottom of the sheet in the blue folder and it will appear there the next day.
If you have not swum previously with B&B then write your details in the Pink folder and your name will appear in the blue folder the next day so you can tick yourself off.
Talk to myself or Julie if any of this is confusing to you.

I’m coming from the other side, so I’ll probably make my way straight to quarantine station, with Murrays boat or whatever. I’ll have a car parked in Watsons Bay so can help with lifts to eg. the city if any stragglers get stranded on the wrong side of the harbour.

ACROSS THE HARBOUR
TIME – doing swim at high or low tides are best as the currents will be the least.
I will swim anytime but it is wiser to do at best times – specially if there are slower swimmers
