07/01/2014 Lucy in the sky with diamonds

07/01/201412

Start humming this song from the Sgt. Peppers album

Picture yourself in a boat on a river,
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly,
A girl with kaleidoscope eyes.

Cellophane flowers of yellow and green,
Towering over your head.
Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes,
And she’s gone.

Lucy in the sky with diamonds

Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Ahh…

LENNON & MCCARTNEY need LSD to see the girl with kaleidoscope eyes

but all you need is to Love Swimming with Dolphins & the B&B!!!!

Kaleidoscope of colour – guess who?

Father and daughter cuddles at Shelly

Congratulations Robyn on your south coast surf boat marathon, those battle bruises look tender

Michael came with dad Sid, mum Margaret and friends Leah & Ted

Where is my wife and daughter?

Found them at last. Thank goodness for manly wine – all the more reason to live in Sydney

Caps

We are very low in pink caps so some serious recycling needs to be done! All those swimmers who swim regularly who have 2 or more caps at home can you please bring the extra ones to us to re-use! Apart from the environmental reasons we are actually running out (till the new stock arrives)

THANKS!

SHARKS

As much as we wouldn’t want to come face to face with a shark in the ocean I am sure we all KNOW that part of swimming in the ocean is that ‘risk’… HOWEVER I for one LOVE that the sharks are there BUT apparently:

Premier Colin Barnett has announced a policy to kill endangered White sharks in the hope this will reduce the incidence of shark attack on WA beaches.

So please use this online form HERE to send Premier Barnett a message telling him that shark killing does not have your support. (or copy and paste this link http://ccwa.org.au/action/no-shark-cull-wa)

B&B Attendance Login

Come on folks – this is the most efficient way to capture your swims.  It’s a smart phone friendly website so no need to download, just mark it as a bookmark.  There are so many good reasons to use the B&B Login – like no queues, no need for glasses to find your name, and never missing the 7am call.

Log your swim between 5am and 9am for the easy way to ensure your swim is recorded in the daily attendance and on the Pacific Challenge.  To get started, send an email to Ian Forster (ugoboyo@gmail.com).  He will check that your email address is activated on the attendance register then send you info on how to get started.  Happy clicking.

Summer badge swims

Every Saturday during summer there will be a 6km swim – usual route is to Freshwater and back; then once a month there is a 10km swim – this is to South Curl Curl and back.  However, the final route depends on conditions that day so it is a good idea to arrive a little early to have a briefing from the designated swim leader.  Both swims kick off at 7am.

The next 10km swim is scheduled for 11 January depending on conditions.

Staying safe

Remember that there are no badges for scaring yourself silly!  While it is great to extend your boundaries, it is important to know your limits.  Do read these excellent tips on staying safe in the surf.  To read, or even download, click here

Great blog, Simon full of colour and imagination – you’re obviously a 60s kind of guy – which brings back hazy memories of… hmmmm… And congratulations on your gorgeous little grandchildren! Congrats to Bad and Lucy too – lovely ring.
Did anyone find a lone flipper on the beach to-day – I lost one – yellow and purple.
