06/11/2019 – Blue Gropers, Birthday Boys and Beaming Swimmers :-)

05/11/20191

Even when the water is murky and the fish are harder to see, we can often come across a beautiful Blue Groper at The Bower or around clearer parts of the bay! A cold morning today but calm water and lots of happy swimmers high on endorphins!

I took this of the early swimmers as I was at the back of the beach enjoying free yoga. It’s on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6am if you’re interested!

The sun came out around 6.45am. Here is Peta. She’s still on a high after South Africa won the Rugby World Cup on Saturday!

At the Surf Club I get introduced to the two newbies in the middle, Natalie and Chelsea with John and Henrietta making them very welcome.

These swimmers have been swimming for as long as me around 7/8 years. Anna A for longer probably 10 years!

Nice photo bomb Jenny!

Tim, Tom, Rosie, Stu, Luke and another friend!

Ted, Derek and Shane heading down the ramp a bit later to avoid the crowds. Not that it was that busy today, probably about 140 swimmers altogether.

I managed to get a photo of Lesbubbs not pulling one of her legendary faces!

At Shelly it was all about Pete. Peter Anthony is celebrating his 60th birthday today. He goes in hospital tomorrow and we wish him all the best for his op. His girlfriend Jacqui tells me he’s going to be strung up in a harness surrounded by nurses! Not quite in the situation he’d imagined but we look forward to seeing him back swimming and blogging in a couple of weeks!

That is Jo Gregory on the left trying hard to be unrecognizable with Emma, Rainer, Rosemary and Gemma!

The beautiful Groper again!

Nice to see Jo back for a swim. She was hoping the temp would be warmer. It was a chilly 16.5 today. Here she is with Di, Rosemary, Monica and Jane

Doset is still out of the water but with his shoulder not his knees. He’s exercising all day to get strong again and avoid surgery. He walks around 16 kms a day and has a disciplined exercise regime. Good on you Dorset!

Pete was celebrating with cake at the benches. Good luck Pete!

Have a fantastic day folks whether celebrating the Cup or not!

Lainey (Murray is blogging tomorrow, we swapped)
