A total of 273 swimmers enjoyed spectacular conditions this morning. Many in questionable attire. For a good cause. Of course.
A brainchild of fellow blogger and aquatic clown Roger, the Bold & Beautiful held its first ever ‘Spring into Summer’ fancy dress charity swim, raising money for Royal Far West.
Many regulars answered the call:
In fact, Lainey couldn’t believe how easy it was to coerce swimmers into putting on her assortment of wigs and fake boobs..
Albeit a little controversial, Lesbubbles won 3rd prize with this ‘Trailer Park’ inspired Bogan outfit:
We had cats..
..mice..
..and JK dressed up as ‘Upper Middle Management’:
Jim gave interviews..
Ted had been waiting for this opportunity all year..
The 7am procession down the ramp being just that bit more colourful today:
Over at Shelly, some costumes needed a few adjustments:
Swimming Jesus was awarded 2nd prize in the best costume category:
(I’m told he walked back)
Very hard to tell who’s leg is kicking up in the following photo.. my money is on Martin:
Of course there was a birthday at Shelly. There’s always a birthday..
Happy Birthday Jane!!!
But wait, there’s more! We had 3x simmers hitting 500km today!
Best dressed family went to the Potgieters:
Back at the club, Roger seemed pleased with the morning. I’m told we raised $322 for Royal Far West.
Well done everyone!!
Oh.. in case you’re wondering, 1st prize for costume of the day went to Capless Dave:
Have a great Sunday!
Lips x
The Stats:
Water temp: 19.3 degrees
Swimmers: 273. Including 5x cats, 2x dogs, 3 pairs of fake boobs, and 1x Jesus..
Newbies: 14 (confused)
Donations: $322 raised in aid of Royal Far West!

Excellent fun Rainer, and thanks for capturing my best angle (but are you sure you didn’t use a wide angle lens?)Well done Jesus for swimming 5 k with crown of thorns and stigmata intact, even if the loin cloth did slip occasionally.

Fabulous blog Lips. Lesbubbs really rocked that bogan outfit 😉 It was remarkably easy to get John Rankin, Jim Hudson and Martin to step in to my dresses and lingerie! You are right Lips. Well done everyone who joined in the shananigans and/or donated and good on you Roger for getting it going!

Good fun for a worthwhile charity. Deserves to be a regular fixture on the B&B calendar.

Shaun looks pretty well dressed up as Lower Middle Management – hardly recognised him!
And love Ava’s costume as a friendly octopus with long green arms – I’d give her and the cats joined first prize!
See you all very, very soon! xxxx
