I have one friend who has never swum with us who thinks I am totally Bonkers doing this everyday! So weird huh!? Because SHE is bonkers for missing all this!!! ;-p
All those years I lived in Manly before swimming in the ocean! Whadda doofus! ;-D

Air was chilly, about 13 degrees? and water was 19.3 but was lovely and sunny and the water, although there were waves, was great to swim in! Lots of funny jelly things near to Shelly!
129 of us ticked including 3 newbies and 30 on the 6.30 Drinks Express!
Irresistible!
Mauricio heading in for a lone swim…
Thursday’s blogger Elaine spent the night on the beach after a BIG Melbourne Cup day – she even got kicked out of the Boat Shed!! 😀
Clea (I think) groaned also with her hangover and still has her Fascinator on!
oh yeah and Billy!
Yeah see weird jellies! I steered clear of this one!!
It’s great when we have people from overseas join us so enthusiastically – I saw this comment on yesterday’s blog from Neil Richardson in the UK who joined us a year ago for a brief stint…

“It was on the corresponding Monday last year that I made my first acquaintance with the B&B. If nothing else, you renewed my enthusiasm for swimming, to the extent that I have swum 944 km so far this year, 710.5 of those in open water. I don’t think you would recognise my stroke if you saw me swimming in the sea now – it has changed so much – although I am still a bit slow. Thank you so much for your encouragement while I was with you last year, and I hope to meet all my B&B friends again before too many more years are out”

Photo below from Anna A of an exhibit at Sculpture by the Sea…..which probably just looks like a normal apres swim scene in a typical BnB’ers home! 😀

Bold and Beautiful Swim School
Sarah Anne Evans, B&B’s official Pacific Jules swim coach, has organised a group swim school at Shelley Beach for any willing B&B swimmers who want to improve their style. The cost is $30 and it’s limited to 15 people. During the 90 minute session Sarah Anne and Warren Evans will be covering how to swim with more efficiency, flow and speed! If the water is clear and calm enough they will film each person for feedback after the session via email.
The latest date available for the B&B Swim School is 21st December.
(This will be the last swim school for the year. More next year. Schools on 30 November and 14 December are both full)
If you would like to book in you should call or email Sarah Anne and you will be sent further information, including the date, time and payment details. Phone 0420 923 067 or email info@pacificjules.com.au

Lov-erly blog Lesbubbs but please don’t believe all her tales about me. (It was The Wharf Bar not The Boatshed ;-))
That jelly fish was creepy. Great visibility around The Point today especially and loads of fish. Hope it stays that way for tomorrow! Neil Richardson is our biggest fan in the UK. We are so lucky. I think he’s bonkers for swimming in the river Thames!

Thanks Lesbubbs and Elaine for your kind comments a year on! I continue to swim in the Thames but do swim in the sea when I get the chance, which isn’t often as I live inland. It’s just as well I can’t count all my open water swimming towards the Pacific Challenge – I would be at No.24 at the moment if I could. If any B&B members are ever in central southern England, let me know – we would be delighted to welcome you to any of our swims.

Nice blog Lesley.
The drinks express had over 30 swimmers today all swimming at pace into the blinding sun over Shelly. Unfortunately a lone female swimmer (swimming away from Shelly) just missed Fifi and I but ran into Lee. We stopped but the swimmer kept on going. For safety sake if you are swimming out of Shelly between 6.30 and 7.30 please kept an eye out for the waves of swimmers who leave from the Manly beach every day at 6.30 & 7 particularly if you have the sun behind you.

Great blog Lesbubbs! I think that you’re friend’s the mad one, as was I as I was a bit slow to join in with B and B, despite being a keen swimmer.
Hi to Neil, whom I met last year. There’s a great open water swimming community in the UK, so I’d encourage anyone going there to put a post on the OSS Facebook page and join in with some swimming groups if you can. You won’t regret it!
