06/06/2023 – When it’s Rainy it’s even more Friendly :-)

06/06/20230

It was Kath’s birthday today so  ‘The Mermaids’ brought along bubbly and cake for a post-swim treat. Happy Birthday Kath Jackson! As there was a bit of rain on and off everybody was huddled together at the Surf Club so it made for a very friendly morning!

It was a bit wet to walk to the change room so we got to see what undies lots of swimmers were wearing!

Bernard thought he’d come face to face with a huge shark today at the point…but it was a dolphin! Yes there were dolphins swimming with some swimmers close to shore today!

Carl saw the dolphins too. Most of us were too busy looking for a Grey Nurse that Jimmy had pointed out and missed the dolphins!

There was a bit of on and off drizzle but the sea was relatively calm and clear at the point and nearer Shelly. Water temp was 17.5. Another beautiful swim 🙂

Early swimmers Richard, Jo and Tim give me an early report most mornings. Thank you!

A few pics of some of the beautiful sea creatures I’ve been lucky enough to see the past few days. Unfortunately the huge Giant Cuttlefish named Mr Fabulous by freediver Kate Ahmad…is no more. Mauricio has footage of him without his head. Taken off by dolphins swimming in the vicinity on Sunday. Such is nature… Have a great day folks!

Lainey xx
