31 adventurous Bold & Beautiful swimmers enjoyed a free rush of adrenaline this morning.
With water moving around all over the place, an absolutely massive swell and waves breaking everywhere – it’s simply epic out there !

2 experienced surf swimmers, Clive and Fiona, swam from the beach this morning, plus Graham who swam the pre-dawn lap solo – now that is what I call ‘keen’ !
The rest of us looked on with baited breath

as we made our way around to Half Way Beach

for our swim to Shelly and back with plenty of adventure and excitement

The swim across was full of bounce with the moon more visible than the sun.

We even saw our very own Venus passing the sun…

As we walked the line

back to celebrate Brad’s birthday in style. Happy birthday Brad 🙂

Check out Gaetan’s dramatic photos taken from Queenscliff with the waves breaking right up to the clouds in the second photo !

If you missed all the action this morning you will be able to get the feel of it from watching Gaetan’s video here
How about this, the Freshie snowfields, formerly known as Freshie Rockpool, beautifully captured by James.

7 swimmers have swum everyday of winter so far !! Check how how many you have done here

Very impressed by Graham and Fiona going out from the beach this morning! Superfish, the two of you.
It was a great swim from Halfway beach too, although the water had that “je ne sais quoi” smell about it… 🙂

Sorry for the confusion… Clive went out with Fiona 🙂 Graham went out earlier for the pre-dawn lap, solo.

Anna, I think the “je ne sais quoi” quality of the seawater after heavy rain is a heady mixture of dog poo and cigarette butts.

Disgusting, isn’t it Jane? And some people would happily smoke that sh*t 😉
I guess we’re just as crazy though, actually SWIMMING in it..! Ha ha ha ha!

South Curly and Freshie Rockpools last night and this morning.
The ocean was the safer option!

James, great video. I was at Freshie pool just before 8am, fantastic viewing from the STEPS, however a family of 5 (mum, dad, 2girls & family dog), were almost swept off their feet, they were standing right beside the pool, could’ve been a real tragedy.

I was very pleased that the last wave was indeed the last wave and not the first of another set as my hat was about to fly off. And lucky I am too shortsighted to have seen that audience, I’d have been really embarrassed….
and I guess apropos of my strange behaviour, before i discovered the marvellous B and B I swam at Curl Curl every day at 5am…so James video brings back fond memories….lol.
