Perfection and reality, both individual and personal experiences.
It is said that we never see reality as it is, only as we are…
But who we are isn’t who we is, if it’s what we think we need to be to get by.
Right?
Our perfection is always there, beneath the patina of past perceptions and layers of life, waiting to be.
This morning 230 swimmers enjoyed the 19.7 degree water, washing away the patina of life and living a little bit more in their own perfect reality…

Tonight’s main event!.. Tapas and a show at Havana Beach Cafe, Manly.
If you are in Manly on Monday night, come along to the Pop-up Theatre. To get in the mood, there will be the usual eclectic well coordinated mayhem (and Chris Taylor in a hula skirt!!) followed by a stunningly beautiful story of a swimmer who swims with a dolphin called Falling for a Dolphin. This will be recited by Bruce Myles, an amazing Australian actor (and very good friend of Izzy’s) http://collections.artscentremelbourne.com.au/pami…/imu.php…
Book now by calling Havana Beach Cafe on (02) 9977 0060.
Just $25 for tapas and show. You know you want to be there.
NEXT Tuesday – BnB monthly dinner with Guest Speaker
The next B&B monthly dinner will be on Tuesday 13th October at 6.30 pm at Bluewater Restaurant. The guest speaker for the night will be one of our own swimmers, Merrilee Linegar, who is a qualified nutritionist and herbalist. Merrilee’s topic for the night will be “Brain Longevity”. The way you live your life today affects how your brain functions tomorrow. Merrilee will discuss how natural medicine, diet and lifestyle improvements can optimise brain function, prevent memory loss and decrease the risk of Alzheimer’s. While most of us keep our bodies fit by swimming regularly, we often forget about our brains. Don’t miss this one!
The cost of the dinner is only $25 a head and includes shared entrees, a selection of mains to choose (incl a vegetarian option), corkage (for byo wine only) and a little thank you for the staff. Glasses of beer or wine and desserts are also available at the special price of only $5 each. Numbers are limited, so bookings are essential: To avoid disappointment and secure your spot please BOOK HERE NOW
Staying safe
Remember that there are no badges for scaring yourself silly! While it is great to extend your boundaries, it is important to know your limits. Also, if you have a bit more experience, keep an eye out for new swimmers who might need company. Do read these excellent tips on staying safe in the surf. To read, or even download, click here.

Nice blog Andrew. I had no idea I was washing away my Patina.
Swim was nice though. Whales and dolphins clocked on for an apprearence.
The magical powers of the swim are endless.
It turned Jane into a Teletubbie.
