Magic, beautiful morning with silky, smooth, calm and warm water!
Quite dark as we waited at the Surf Club, before sunrise at 7.10am this morning. All to change tomorrow with the clocks going back. I’ll miss these sunrise swims… but our swims are always special in some way. Today it was pretty perfect…

Hello Michelle, Jenny M, Jenny K, Mary, Ian! Peta brings along her South African friend, Gideon for his first B&B swim!

And Beth faces her fears and swims both ways for the first time today. It’s great seeing new swimmers excitement as they push themselves out of their comfort zone and do this swim, which we must remember, for most of the population is quite an accomplishment! Well done everybody!
Pink cloud patch as we swim off from The Point…

I love it when the water is clear and fish just swim along with us at all different levels! Some like the catfish are on the sand. The garfish are really high in the water. The fish below are quite near the surface too!

A few group shots at Shelly. I hope you can find yourself in one of the photos today! Click on them and zoom in.

Aren’t we lucky to have discovered this amazing group? What a way to start the weekend!

It’s Paula’s birthday today so she gets the Happy Birthday serenade and celebratory splash! (The Bower Street residents get their 7.20am alarm!)

We love our B&B swims for so many different reasons… I’m looking forward to a slow swim back looking at all the sea creatures. For these guys below it’s a race back to Manly. (Sterling usually tries to get a head start 😉

Fairy Bower buildings were lit up in the sun on the way back. Stunning! And just infront of the yellow hut and the tall palm tree you can see the most amazing marine life! The pale coloured rocks illuminate lots of fish like the blackfish, old wives and bullseyes.

Renae can’t blog for a while but still enjoying taking photos of this wonderful marine life.

The mados and cute bluey fish below (name please Jane) were swimming so close infront of my face as I swam back near The Point.

A catfish and fiddler ray as I am quite close to shore.

Just a couple of photos of apres-swim yesterday. Little Sarah had something new to show us…

Her new bicycle is bringing her so much joy! 😉

(Amazing what cropping a photo shows up!)
Have a great weekend folks! Don’t forget to turn your clocks back. Sunrise at 6.10am tomorrow!

There is nothing trivial about the Trivia Night – Save the date!!
The next significant date in the B&B social calendar is the annual Trivia Night at the Steyne Hotel on Tuesday 6th May! So save the date, gather your team, and start preparing to join the exclusive ranks of former Trivia Winners who have squared up to our very own quizmaster, John Kelly. If you would like to help out, we need some volunteers on the night. Plus if you could donate items for team prizes, auction items or raffle prizes that would be great. This year we will be joined by the Royal Far West who will be assisting in fundraising for the event, and will receive part of the funds raised on the night. I’d like to give special thanks to RENAE who has given us such incredible Saturday blogs for a very long spell and needs a well-deserved break to attend to the rest of her life. We look forward to your occasional guest blog, Renae!
And big thanks to LAINEY for always stepping up as usual to help us all – now by taking on the Saturday slot.
If anyone can help with either the Thurs or Sat blogs (in speedo smart-phone or non-speedo format), pls speak to Lesley or Lainey.

Beaut fish pics as usual Lainey-Loo. Top right in Fish Pic no. 4 is interesting – I think it is just a Silver Sweep (Scorpis lineolata) with all its friends, but the sunlight seems to be giving it silver bars.

Another great reminder of your wonderful swimming venue! Love the blogs and the sea life photos especially. The gravel pit lake, the Thames and even the sea around Poole don’t begin to compare, that’s quite apart from the water temperature (About 10 deg C in all of the above at present).
