04/08/2011 – One Degree of Separation…

August 4, 201113

72 ‘ticked’ Bold & Beautiful swimmers.

All enjoyed a stunning swim this morning, the water is really clearing up now giving us full visibility or our marine companions again. Today we saw a numbfish, wobbegong, port jackson, large blue grouper, maori wrasse and stingarees to mention just a few.

Attracta Woolohan has promised to bring the point back to the point as of tomorrow morning, as our meeting point seems to have snuck forward about 200 metres.

There is photographic evidence so it must be true; Timberlie Ettle and Linda Goodwin actually swam this morning, albeit only one way… !! 🙂

Anybody who didn’t come to breakfast this morning missed out on Izzy’s Ia(i)n sandwich…

Hope to see you all tonight, 7pm at the Steyne Hotel for your Steyne Hotel sponsored free dinner and two free drinks 🙂

All you need is your B&B discount card, I will have some with me this evening that you can purchase if you don’t already have one.

Now we have a B&B disaster, and it’s a real disaster; Michael Christie and Michel Le Vieux both took the water temperature this morning, each with their own thermometers and there is a whole degree’s discrepancy… Michael’s read 18.2 and Michel’s read 17.2, now what has the world come to and what are we going to do ?!?

Anne Edwards is off to the USA today for 3 and a half weeks with her pink cap in tow, have a great trip Anne 🙂

Water Temperature 18.2 degrees.
Air Temperature 9.5 degrees.
Sunrise 6.45am.
Sunset 5.17pm.
High Tide: 11.40am.
Low Tide: 5.45pm.

Another lovely swim with ideal conditions that are supposed to continue for the foreseeable future!!
Its a real shame about Michel’s thermometer. He should have bought a decent one. Luckily we have my one to give an accurate reading each morning.

And it seems Michael’s thermometer has a more positive attitude really. Sorry Michel, but if I have to choose, I go with the 18.2 rather than the chilly 17.2 degrees any day.

I don’t think we can handle the truth!

“higher temperature equating to positive attitude” is probably a philosophical discussion 🙂
17.2’C vs 18.2’C is a scientific question that I am sure someone can answer with perhaps the addition of a 3rd or 4th thermometer.

While we are checking thermometers perhaps we could take the opportunity to take the temperatures of B&B swimmers to see:
    1. Who are our hottest swimmers?
    2. Who are our hottest swimmers after a lap?
Michael based on your breakfast morning shivering I feel that you may not do so well in category 2…. unless of course you use your thermometer that will give you that 1 degree edge

    SCIENTIFIC ALERT!!!!
For those of you who questions global warming we now have indisputable evidence based upon the appearance of Tim & Linda for a swim in August.

I was always a Global Warming sceptic, but you are right Iain that is undeniable proof.

With my experience , the hottest swimmers are the same whether they do a lap or not…

and not to mention….(I think it was) Richard Hayes at Shelly had me smack into him not realising i had arrived into Shelley then SPIT a jet of water in his face and a minute later he was ‘attacked’ by quite a big Ray (stingaree??) ;-D

I’m concerned now, where are you thinking of placing the thermometer in order to get a reading on our core temperature???? I glad i wear a wetsuit.
