Think about this for a moment. It’s 3 degrees outside,
the water temperature has dropped to 17.1 degrees,
and still there are over 120 people turning up to swim. Why? Apart from doing the blog, I am there because you are. Is that your reason? Because we are doing this together?
Together we basked in the glory of the majestic sunrise.
We shared the experience of multilayers to prolong the diminishing warmth from the doona. Wendy was here to keep up the fine B&B tradition of ‘photobombing’ while the Master Bomber, Rainer is away.
So, it was a bit cool getting in. Somehow, sharing the laughter and squeals just makes the experience more memorable.
The upside is that – surprisingly – the temperature at the point is a smidgen warmer. Yeah!
By the time you reach Shelly – mind the boat – you’re pumped.
Black neoprene remains the look of the season.
A gorgeous Giant Cuttlefish swam by at Shelly showing its burnished orange colour one minute,
then blending in with the colour of the sand the next.
Have you noticed the massive school of Yellowtail?
The Diamond Fish are hanging around the rocks at the point.
And a Crimson Banded Wrasse swam into my camera as it photobombed an earlier shot!!
But there is nothing like the cosy comfort of Bluewater post swim.
What more could you want; cuddles, heaters, and breakfast.
Have a great Saturday.
Mary

Great blog Mary! The sunrise complimented the cuttlefish! It was such a magic morning…if a little chilly. It was the first time I had www tingle skin on the way back from Shelly. When a cold patch hit I thought, oh no, this will be the whole swim in a few weeks… eek!

What a great mixture of shots Mary ! it is a crazy eclectic group of swimmers all getting a great start to the day ! just remember the snooze button & Doona is not your friend.
But 3degrees is getting close to snuggle/cuddle up to a friend weather….. I can recommend Jane ! she has $2 hand warmers from Aldi stuffed in her gloves.
will we see 0 degrees on the clubhouse ?? ???
Love you all

Woo hoo! Reflected my swim perfectly – even saw the cuttlefish today and reckon I would have had real trouble getting out of bed without the Gangtok swim with!

You don’t have to confine the warming to your hands either, Shelly……

I mean, they’ll fit in my Ugg boots, and nice on a cold tummy too.

Great shots of the cuttlefish changing colour Mary and a fantastic blog all round! I’m intrigued about Jane’s special ‘warmers’ from Aldi!

Very nice blog Mary.
The photo of the Cuttlefish is smashing! When it goes gold like that with the neon lights, it is spectacular.
