03/12/2012 – N@ked Monday has been Usurped!

03/12/201234

62 beautiful and 1 bold swimmer had one of the best swims of the year today!!!

Ok, so I was initially planning on a rock n roll start to the week with N@ked Monday, however there was so much going today I couldnt really let my narcissistic tendancies take over what really was an amazing morning at Manly.

It didnt look that way though when we got up this morning. If yesterday was like Sweden, today was certianly very Irish with a dull sky and drizzle blanket. Eurgh.

Firstly though, the fashion stakes have gone up. The Pink Ladies were in town, HOT!!!

Stephen was so mesmerised by the beauty, he just had to propose!

I think Annie needs to be on the spreddy….clearly a budding Blog Tart!

The Aliens have landed!!!

The first of many underwater shots by my Blog-Aid buddies Elaine and Stephen C, thank you so much for the amazing shots.

Not quite sure what the Latin name is for this curious underwater creature sighted when we got to Shelly

At first glance I thought I was seeing double, but apparently Rainer has jus been stalking Lesley and stealing her clothes. (They look much better on Lesley)

Rainer used his new found identity to get a bit too close and personal to Little Sarah…jeez….she is only back a couple of days!!

Apparently the head continues to swim on for days after the head is bitten off!

I did not take this picture!

Visibilty was amazing most of the way

Our old buddies the Jimbles were back looking for a kiss and a cuddle

Elaine was doing her Jacques Cousteau impression and snapped this cracker

I tried my best at some underwater shots aswell but just ended up trying to drown. Luckily, I saw the hand of an angel reach down and pull me to safety!

Ok, so I couldnt let you down….its N@ked Monday after all!!!!

See you all next Monday, keep on smiling and swimming…

Robster the Blogster

There were 8 early lappers and 3 boulderdashians this morning.

News in from Jules that James Goins finished the 9km Lake Burley Griffin swim and Michael Christie was first in his age group!!! Well done both!!!

Bondi to Bronte 2.5km swim took place yesterday. B&B results below:

Simon Cowell 1st Place (60-65)

Rob Boylan 2nd Place (60-65)

Bruce Baird 5th (65+)

Richard Agius 5th Plac (45-49)

Miles Tollan honorable mention for a great swim!

Pictures to follow in bext blog

Here are some more B and B results from North Curl Curl on Saturday.
I decided to do this after the swim instead of the 10km…(piker that I am)
    Three Points Challenge: Category places:
    Luitz Koopman: 139th (big field!)
    Lucy Mc Fadden 7th
    Midge Castel 6th
    Elaine de Jager 8th
    Ocean swim 2.2km
    me: 3rd.
( I did procure a banana on the way)

Just to continue the BB bragging…(this is long, so maybe go and make a cuppa before you read on).
Congratulations also to Cass Cordwell who finished first in our age group for the Three Points Challenge!! What a gal!!
Chris Cordwell came in under an hour (I don’t know how people do that) and so did Brian Black who smashed his age group in fourth place!!
I am personally very happy to know they have changed the t-shirt slogan so it no longer says: “an hour of torture”. It’s definitely more like “an hour and a little bit extra of torture” but obviously that’s not as catchy…
I don’t know if it’s been in the blog so apologies if I’m repeating myself, but Trish Appleby won her age category in the Coogee Wedding Cake swim two weeks ago (2.4km). Yay Trish!!
    Yay BB!! xx

Great Blog. Someone must have helped Rob. Grammar and spelling heaps better than last week.
Some great underwater shots. Even though the jimble pictures still give me goose bumps. They will haunt me in my dreams for years to come. And so will that last photo of Rob.
Talking of tension, is anyone following the nail biting battle between Little Sarah, Andrew D, and John S in the Pacific Challenge? All of them at precisely 261k now.
I have my money on Little Sarah, but you never know. All it takes is for John S to tick a few more of his warm showers as ‘Bolderdashes’ and the competition would be wide open again..
As for my wandering hands, I have nothing to say in my defence..

No help, just fear of the spelling and grammar police!

So much safer to keep wearing a wet-suit for now rather than one of those pink B&B reveal-all cossies that have started coming back into fashion for the girls:-)
Blogster Robster, so glad you didn’t let us down and showed your true colours at the end. You could do with a tanning lesson from Ian.
p.s. Did the tissue-in-the-ear trick work?

I know, serious pressure.Thx for your vote of confidence lLes…. I’m relying on Andrew to be the true gentleman I know he is and to kindly forget to sign in. As for John S, I think I’ll have to be more crafty –
My old buddy, Young Jack, isn’t it time your Dad helped you with all that homework before school like good Dads do? I mean it’s your future and your career at stake – and then don’t you need a ride to school (or to visit your girlfriend) if exams are over?

hahahaha had to stiffle my laugh again at work – especially fun shots of Elaine!!
Ps. I personally think the white rashie looks better on Rainer BECAUSE it’s SO see through!!!

Well Done Rob. Impressive looking blackout you have there.
    Yes LLLTBAKATLFKAR.
I have noticed the three of them just behind me on the pacific challenge.
I managed to jump them all on the weekend.
It looks like you are trying some challenge jumping yourself there Lips!!!
Did I tell you about the 10k swim Lips??? now that you raised the subject?
In my delerious state from the 10.2 K swim on saturday, I thought I saw you in ladies clothes.
You told me last week that you wanted to get into Lesley’s top.
Well done. You look great in the ladies gear.
I also saw in my delirious state while doing the 10.3 K swim –
Bubbles – but that turned out to be Midge swimming past me.
More Bubbles – Turned out to be Storchy chasing Anna
More Bubbles – Turned out to be Lesley, Rob and Jules chasing Storchy to quiz him about the “more intellectual humour” jibe. from yesterday.
(Remember that one on your next blog) Storch, Spelt S T O R C H. hehehe
Footnote – I am very disappointed no one got the photo of Myself giving Lucy a hug on Sunday. Next Bradless opportunity outside of 300mm zone – possible February.
Well done to the B and B racing team from the last few weeks. Im looking forward to some speed tips so I can do the 10.4K swim faster next time. That includes you banana girl Fifs. Well done.

Well LSA looks like Jack’s Net Nanny will be secretly turned on this afternoon which will rule out any visits to the B&B website with those suggestions of Dad helping with homework.
In any case we want him to pass, so that rules out help from his dopey dad!!
I had a LONG shower at home this morning, does that count as a boulder dash or a shelley??
LSA, Andrew may appear the true gentleman and I may appear a rough diamond – but as the saying goes never judge a book by its cover. 😉

Call that a feel, Lips? Sorry buddy I need to give you lessons. To be a proper grope a lady needs to feel like she’s had her bikini undone from the inside. I suspect Little Sarah was left feeling a bit underwhelmed.
Nice blog Rob, very visual. The extreme close-up of you reminds me of a recurring nightmare I had back in the 70s after I got frightened at the circus. And what’s with my ‘honourable mention’ at the bondi-2-bronte? You make it sound like I limped over the line queueing up for the defibrilator – 40m:35s counts as ass-kicking where I come from, blogboy! (Thx to Alex Prendergast for keeping me in a straight line BTW, I’m still a bit rubbish in that dept)

Great time Miles, what was it – 1.5K
did I tell you about the 10.6K I swam on Sat?

  • Nasty Milo

    03/12/2012 at 3:17 pm

oh I see, you wanna play dirty do you? It got pretty ugly out there, I clawed my way over some peeps who were ‘in the wrong lane’, and I’ll do the same to you and your happy-go-lucky dolphins if you’re not careful. Nasty Milo.

  • Dolphin Whisperer formally known as slowest Shaun until I met little Sarah

    03/12/2012 at 4:06 pm

Hahaha , hey , no competition here bro Nasty Milo.
Just as well you didn’t say that in Dolphin speak, they might get upset.
    1/ I can’t beat anyone for speed.
2/ my dolphin mates and I just like playing in the surf.
Thus – no competition unless your talking about the pacific challenge – then – Im in haha
The comment was directed at the tiime – That is the time I would take for 1.5 K
Did I tell you about the 10.7 K swim I did on Sat?

  • Nice Milo

I’ll write the blog Lesley if you’ll agree to be the model in my ‘teach-these-punks-how-to-grope’ masterclass.

You mean the whale on the weekend or the one last week? I’ve done it so many times I’ve lost count. I wish they would stop getting in my way….. Here’s one from a few years back:
I was one of that crew; my shouts had gone up with the rest; my oath had been welded with theirs; and stronger I shouted, and more did I hammer and clinch my oath, because of the dread in my soul. A wild, mystical, sympathetical feeling was in me; Ahab’s quenchless feud seemed mine. With greedy ears I learned the history of that murderous monster against whom I and all the others had taken our oaths of violence and revenge.
For some time past, though at intervals only, the unaccompanied, secluded White Whale had haunted those uncivilized seas mostly frequented by the Sperm Whale fishermen. But not all of them knew of his existence; only a few of them, comparatively, had knowingly seen him; while the number who as yet had actually and knowingly given battle to him, was small indeed. For, owing to the large number of whale-cruisers; the disorderly way they were sprinkled over the entire watery circumference, many of them adventurously pushing their quest along solitary latitudes, so as seldom or never for a whole twelvemonth or more on a stretch, to encounter a single news-telling sail of any sort; the inordinate length of each separate voyage; the irregularity of the times of sailing from home; all these, with other circumstances, direct and indirect, long obstructed
the spread through the whole world-wide whaling-fleet of the special individualizing tidings concerning Moby Dick
