94 Bold & Beautiful swimmers.

Arrived to a beautiful sunrise this morning with a gorgeous orange and pink hue across the sky, not that I have a picture of it for you… but there was !

The surf has settled so our morning started in unison with a collective procession down to the waters edge, with everyone starting together at the beach.

Bring on the swim

Sam was enjoying having the company of two of her work colleagues, Brendon and Tim for Friday’s work colleague swim day.

The viz is clearing nicely too, enough that Bob saw a baby Port Jackson shark just off the point

It was a lovely calm swim across the bay

then all of a sudden…

Nick J certainly wasn’t expecting this wall of water, which came along and claimed both his cap and goggles

Others however, were happy to lie back and take it all in… click on the photo below to see the full blown up version, check out the look on their face, they’re seriously enjoying the moment 🙂

6 swimmers enjoyed a double lap while Lesley reminded Heidi that we swim in a no-take aquatic marine reserve… meaning you can’t take this little critter home with you in your cossie Heidi !

Hammer the Hutt marathon swim is on tomorrow so please jump in and accompany Ben for any of his 20 laps (30km) from Manly to Shelly and back starting at 5.30am and finishing around 5pm, just like you did for Collie last weekend.  Your support makes all the difference to these guys so thank you for getting behind them as they get ready for their solo English Channel swims.

Jonny Schaffer has taken B&B to the swimming at the London Olympics, unfortunately we just missed out on a medal…

but, hopefully we’ll get a medal next week when Murray Stewart competes in the Kayaking !! 🙂

Two of our swimmers, Sam Evans and Brendon Quinn, along with 2 other work colleagues are heading to the Northern Territory on 19th August to walk 80km on the Larapinta Trail to raise money for the Australian Cancer Research Foundation.

Please visit their fundraising site and wish them luck by donating and leaving them a message – every dollar is greatly appreciated by this great cause.

Happy birthday to Boy Michel’s mum, Lorraine Le Vieux who joined us for brekkie today 🙂

OK, a little behind in Hong Kong.
Here’s a comment by the head coach of the US female Olympic swimmers, Teri McKeever – the first woman to hold the job.
Qu: What’s the secret to swimming?
Ans: It’s not about overpowering your environment. The water isn’t the same as the ground, where the harder you push on it, the more successful you’ll be. I always tell the girls, if you get in a fight with the water, who wins? You have to find a way of working with it.
