A stunning morning!
BUT with a bit of a surprise in store for us…
No, not Elaine and her new 500 km badge…..
or this guys tattoo..?
but some more big waves to deal with!
..all the usual hard core amazing swimmers…ie, the 6.30 crew said it was tough and scary!
So we headed off to half way AGAIN!
..although not all of us…..even though Elaine made sure everyone knew that half way was the recommended option.
I was trying to get some photos at the point of the big waves but there was a smudge on my lens!
The half way pilgrimage!
The sun rise was so worth getting out of bed for!! Do you appreciate how amazing the fact the sun ‘comes up’ at all each morning??
Humpf! The ‘wetsuiters’ take their time getting in whilst the ‘non wetsuiters’ freeze!!
Stealth man!
It was surprisingly warm in the water though – much warmer than the air temp!! Positively balmy!
Welcome to our overseas guests! Though sorry they didn’t sign in, so didn’t get their name…(ummm….Ian, I will explain!)
Ted on the stairs…
Rusty on the stairs – seconds before he pulled he shorts down!!! YEP my sodding camera missed it!
Some people came back through this!!! But despite the waves and the cold air temp it was a lovely swim! Nice and choppy and quite clear and with the sun keeping us ‘warm’!
A selection of photos from last nights Bold and Beautiful monthly dinner at Bluewater. I made sure everyone was included 😀
Elaine and Anna being presented with their 500K badges
Even though Nick’s birthday was 2 weeks ago he still insists on milking every moment of it…with yet ANOTHER cake! ;-p
Ps. do these belong to anyone?? left yesterday in ladies change room

Oh such a pity about that smudge on the lens. It is amazing how often those things appear :-D.
Great blog Ms L’butt.

Oh, Smudge – now I know why you were late for the 6.59 take-off!
So glad all those who came in through the waves survived to tell the tale, once again. Jon said it was “just a little hairy…”
Beautiful morning:-)

Sorry LSA..
I really intended to go through the surf when you started walking but people were pleading with me to take the halfway option, so I gave in and joined the pilgrimage.
At least I found you at Shelly this time!

Lovely blog as usual (ignore Monday’s heckling!)
Lips – you should be renamed ‘Smudge’ I’ll talk to the Committee
Congrats to the 500k’ers a long long time for that for me!

Yes, the swell was huge, but I was fortunate enough to have good company on the way in — thanks Liam!

Yes, slowly getting back in sync!
Are you sure it was them pleading with you? I heard a slightly different version:-)
