03/06/2013 – The blog that is freezing its *COUGH* off for charity

03/06/201323

81 Bold and Beautiful swimmers took to the waves this morning.

Firstly, photo of the week came from Thursday’s blog..congrats Elaine! Personally I thought my selfie from last Monday was better…but whatever.

Ok, so today brought a new challenge for the no.1 Blogger of the week. Namely that “Girl Friday” blogger AA decided to no show with the communal camera.

This is her trying to hide her shame after brazenly enjoying a “non-swim” breakfast

Luckily I had my iPhone with me so was able to take a couple of shots and to be honest, its a seemless transition for an expert blogster like myself.

An arty photo of the evil B&B overlords in their special winter booties

Now you all know about the “Winter without Wetsuit” badge. Well, I have been able to coerce a number of unwilling people into attempting it in aid of charity. We have decided to raise some well needed funds for local hospice BEAR COTTAGE. Here is a photo of the group….I guarantee you that we will look a lot worse for wear by the end of the challenge, if thats possible.

(Nicki B missed the photo, apologies!!)

If you would like to support us in our quest, please follow this link. Whether it is $1 or $100, every single cent is needed and very much appreciated.

If you want to follow your progress in the challenge, or the progress of others there is a cool link which shows how many swims/weeks you need to go to finish the challenge:

Here is Jules, all equipped for her first Winter swim without a wetsuit, hot water bottle and all!

JK went down to check the temperature, at 19.8C he was wondering what all the fuss was about.

“Time to break out the HTFU spray I think” he mumbled.

A couple of doctors, a meeting of minds you might say. Well, one mind anyway.

The local hitman was confirming his next job. Scary.

FYI. For an extra 50 cents, you can get an “Adult” Latte. Iain Liddels coffee below came with the male version.

But if you cant afford breakfast at all, feel free to eat the small peanut butter sachets as demonstrated by Jess

Below video in from HK triad queen LSA…..enjoy!

And this photo of the week candidate just in from Stephen Coulter

Thats all from Monday Blogster, another home run!

Keep swimming and smiling,

Robster the Blogster

The photo of the hitman ..is he trying to on-sell his ‘special cream’ from yesterday?

Anna, love your work. Anything that helps minimizing blog exposure of wetsuitless Robbie is welcome.
Hiding the camera? Pretty low, but if it serves the greater good of B&B movement and blog readership I’m all for it.
LSA, Jon, Annie – great little video. Enjoy your cocktails and warm pool water while you can. Soon you’ll be confronted with the harsh reality of Manly Winter: cold southerly winds, rapidly dropping water temperature and, worst of all, the traumatizing sight of a wetsuitless Robbie before breakfast. It will be a long, harsh winter..

Nice to see you there on a Monday -couldnt quite believe how many people struggled wiht my guest appearance and still no blog photo!

Just a little bit too cheeky today, Cheeky Monkey. Not sure what you were thinking. Your “rashie” was deemed by Management to have exceeded the thermal assistance threshold for the WWW badge. Any more contraventions will result in “deductions”, thereby forcing additional swims (in August when it is much colder).

Thx Lips, BUT….. I’d just about convinced Annie to return soon with tales about all the gorgeous, warm, sunny, calm swims with fish and turtles.
Now she’s saying, forget it – no way ’til summer when it’s warm and cosy again and Robbie puts his wetsuit back on:-))

Ha, ha., love Management’s humour or maybe they’re serious…:-))
Good luck all WWWs! Iain, don’t forget your pink cap or you’ll be given extra August penance swims too:-))
Will try to not spend a gold coin put aside for the kitty-cause!

I’m not sure what i was thinking either?!?! I may have to line my other rashie with banana skins to keep warm through Winter.
With Sunday blogging duties (I did notice a distinct lack of the WWW crowd mentioned today when it was cold and blustery and raining yesterday btw) I will HAVE to swim in August at any rate!

93 people booked in for the Bluewater dinner as of 10am. Better book quick if you haven’t as they can only take 110! Yay! Thanks for photo of the week award!!!

Dolphin Whisperer Shaun. He’s a really nice guy. I think he’s taken but I was shouldered out of the way by Lesbubbles anyway.

One more educated than us in the ways of the mind would have a lot to say about Lesley’s unconscious adjustments at that time!!
