From spring yesterday back to winter today, I guess that is why we were a modest 69 (ish) swimmers today. The clouds may be rolling back in, but there is always the guarantee of a sunny smile and a warm hug at B&B central.
And I have to confess, being my birthday, I thoroughly enjoyed the hugs and kisses.
Nothing like a conga train to get the party started.
And it just isn’t Tuesday without lovely Cathie.
There were a few rolling waves as we made our way to the point. Mind you, the hard part was negotiating the swirling weed just below the surface.
As ever all fun at Shelly.
Visibility is still very poor – so no photos I’m afraid. However, there were swimmers reporting sightings of Wobbegongs, Squid and some unidentified sharks (these were just below the Tardis). The dark clouds were gathering on the return swim.
And Happy Birthday to Jim!
And lovely Jenny (who didn’t swim)
And finally, thank you to Eric for the cake, and the mob at Bluewater for singing so nicely.
Feeling like a total blog tart 🙂 See you tomorrow.

No shark cull rally
Another national day of action against the culling of sharks is being held on Sunday 7 September. . Manly beach is one of 5 locations around the country. This event will coincide with national threatened species day and also is the first weekend the nets are back in the water.
Also as mentioned previously if we can drum up enough members of B&B who would like to put the pink caps on and swim out to one of the shark nets as a demonstration on the day of the rally that would be awesome. We would kick that off first around 11am. Obviously it will depend on if we have enough keen people to brave the cold water and the conditions on the day in terms of safety.

Celebrations though today because I went to the start of the waikiki Roughwater to find 3 other BB swimmers! It was Deirdre and another woman from UTS triathlon and a man whose names I forgot AFTER completing the swim! 3.8 km with a bit of a swell at the end and about 27 degree water plus turtles. But I am looking forward to getting to my Manly swim! Deirdre may have a photo to post – with details of names but what a blast!

The bandb equivalent to ICAC has interfered in the running of the integrity police!
Ian and JK are assisting us with our enquiries .
So much checking and rechecking now the digital age has come to mantown.
Truth be told , we are much too busy tracking down Stephanie no pants to worry about Stirling.
Happy Birthday Mary and Jenny xx

Happy Birthday Mary, Jenny & Jim from Tayls’ favourite spot in Aggia Anna on Naxos!!! Heaven after our token Channel swims:-))
We’re rying to slowly build up ready for our swimtrek next week….
Seriously beautiful spot with the friendliest of people (apart from B&B, of course) and lovely Greek taverna eats next door…. Tayls, you’re missed by all! Hi to John L too – he also stayed here with Tayls last year.

So fantastic seeing Elizabeth at the Waikiki swim and huge congrats for completing it! Lesley and Dave completed as well but sadly Deirdre and I didn’t make the cut off time and got a lift into the bay on a speedboat dinghy. At least they let us swim in. Looking forward to more B & B swims. Clearly I need the practice.
