02/09/2013 – The blog that brings mediocrity back to Mondays

02/09/201320

101 Bold and Beautiful swimmers groaned with dissapointment when they heard the regular Monday blogger was back!

Thanks to Joe, Mary and Lesbutt for covering me while I was off in volunteering in the slums building schools and orphanages…

Well it was a nice start to the week with temps rising and sun shining

Toni was busy fixing some 1st world problems on her mobile

But more importantly it was Jenny’s birthday! Lesley simply couldnt fake her excitement

Others couldn’t hide their laughter when they heard what birthday she was celebrating!

Sarah meanwhile was focused on the swim ahead…apparently there was a bet with Dave afoot

Bob was jumping for joy about being in the Monday blog

Not sure if I am now cool, or simply wearing womens shoes…myself and Annie share a fashion moment together

And congrats to Annie, who brought along her newborn twins for their first swim today, all tucked up in their baby basket…doesnt she look great?!

There was a protester this morning…no H20! Couldnt agree more

Ian welcomed our newest newbie. Great to see the group continuing to grow, despite all my attempts to sabotage the group with awful blogging.

Rainer pretending he is not over the moon to feature in a photo with yours truly. Photographic GOLD! Feel free to use this as your desktop background pic or Facebook profile folks.

Bruce, fresh off his stint on the drum last week where he single handedly brought down the Palmer United Party gets locked and loaded for the swim by one of his minions.*

*My legal team have advised me to confirm that Bruce is seeking an injuction on all future Monday blogs due to blatant inaccuracies and use of poetic licence.

Get yer cap on Vick, you’ve pulled!

Bella and Annie hate a photo op

I may have zoomed in just a tad too much here. Sorry Paige! (And good luck with the marathon!)

My poor attempt at the standard Arty shot

James advised me just as I was about to get in that he had seen a 5ft Hammerhead near Shelly! Luckily it was well gone by 7am…although as we all agreed at brekkie there is zero chance its going to go near one of us with all that other tasty fish life out there to choose from!

Super cute toes…this person must be super hot.

Stop taking bloody photos of me!

Ok, one more birthday shot

Ian managed to get nailed by the only wave out there today. Way to play it cool Ian…

Is that agony or ecstacy?

No cap, no tick. No idea who this renegade swimmer is.

Its pink, we will allow it as a once off. More renegade swimmers infiltrating our ranks. We are watching you!

Jeez JK, blog tart alert! Lucky its your birthday….LETS GO!!

Dave lost his bet to Sarah….She beat him back to Manly by a HUGE margin of half a metre. 😉

These three obviously remembered I was back. And blogging. HURRAY!

Keep swimming and smiling,

Robster the Blogster…

..in his speedos….

…just the way you like him.

Hi All – I hope to back in the swim on Sat. after removal of sutures from hand. Hope this isn’t the signal for winter to return after a long absence. Loved your blog today, Robster. By the way, the OzMus folk loved our B&B song.
    Missing y’all!

Sounds such a fun morning, welcome back Robster! Hammerheads in the bay now, exciting! Happy birthday Jenny!

    Missing you too, Jane!
So many unidentified sea creatures over the last few days. Just this morning some people (wrongly) identified a common mullet as a ‘hammerhead’.. misidentification is rampant without you here!

Robbie, good to have you back!
Don’t worry if the first few blogs don’t quite hit the mark. You’ve been away from blog duty for a long time..
They will get better over time. (we hope)

Next thing will be people saying they’ve seen a whale in the bay before!!

If you blur your eyes, put your goggles on and fill them with sand… perhaps??

No mistaking that shark this morning – as it cruised underneath me – waggling its head, reckon I did the fastest swim back to Manly of my life! See you tomorrow for the early? 🙂

    Well put Lippy.
Great to see positive encouraging comments.
Robbie, I can see the effort you put in. I believe if you keep trying, you could eventually be one the best.

Thanks DWTG. Once I have the approval of you and lips, I know I am at the pinnacle of local swimming group in Manly blogging ladders.
    I am trying.

    That’s right Robbie!
DWTG and I are the ‘Margaret & David’ of the blogging world. Today I give you 3 stars.
DWTG, for tomorrow’s review I’d like to look back at Yoshida-san’s classic black-and-white blog on flower arrangements from 1992. Let me dig up the URL and post it for our readers tomorrow..

So good to have you back on the blog Robbie. Your Monday ‘don’t take yourself so seriously, it’s only a swim’ attitude is such a refreshing start to the week.
Happy Birthday Jenny! We share a birthday 🙂

Mary I am so sorry I forgot to include your birthday today. In fact, Lesley emailed me yesterday to remind me about it and I obviously got so caught up in my blog-bubble that I forgot….
Happy birthday to you Tuesday Blogger Mary!!
    APOLOGIES!!!
