53 Bold & Beautiful swimmers.
For those of us who didn’t let our doona’s tempt us this morning we were rewarded. It was a superb swim at lake Manly.
The sky is grey but they water is clear and the marine life is outstanding. In fact it was so pleasant 5 swimmers continued on for a double lap.
4 swimmers also enjoyed an early swim up Queensie… Roberto… where were you ?? 😉
These cloudy wet days are predicted for the next few weeks so don’t be deterred. We get wet anyway and the good thing about rain is it often equates to flat water 🙂

I think this is called creative blur…

The visibility is great and the marine life certainly prolific but I do have one problem with the rain and that’s the clouds, it makes it near impossible to photograph underwater. Everything comes out blurry as there’s not enough light to focus and as you can see from photo 3 and 4 above the flash just ‘doesn’t do it’ underwater as it captures all plankton. Anyone got any tips please ??
Ricky however, comes out a treat 😉

A little video of a wobbigong too.
Michelle, Anthony and baby Yeates brighten up the walkway with their red umbrella.

Some swimmers are keen to continue on for a long swim tomorrow after the 7am Shelly swim, heading up towards Queenscliff to start and taking it from there depending on the southerly swell. Gather at the point on the way back from Shelly if you’re keen to join in.
Some more colour to brighten up this dreary day, Michael with the rainbow lorikeetes on our balcony 🙂

There are still two shows left of ‘Every Single Saturday’ at Glenn St Theatre, with 20 complimentary tickets to B&B for each: tonight at 8pm and Saturday at 2pm.
If you’d like to take advantage of these very generous free tickets please phone the box office on 9975 1455 and say you would like ‘x’ number of B&B complimentary tickets.
Good luck to our two teams doing the Coastrek walk today, keep an eye out around Manly this afternoon as they walk past, I’m sure they’ll appreciate all the support they can get. It’s not too late to sponsor them if you’d like to…

Miles has just sent through proof that Roberto was in fact there for the early swim this morning…
The photos are a bit dark but it was early morning, he’s pretty sure you can make out the main details though to see that it’s definitely him.
1. Roberto doing stretches, 2. Roberto powering through chop, 3. Roberto tumble-turn off Queensie

GREAT swim this morning, up to Queensie with Alex, Miles and Gaetan. After our smooth entry in the corner, we found that the seas built up to be more pushy and peaky up as we got to the Queensie end, so the swim offered a big range of sea state. This variation over distance is ideal conditioning for anyone who might be in training for South Head or Lake Argyle. Glad we got out of bed to do it.

Great shots, Miles. Glad you worked out that problem you were having with the flash.

Wow Roberto – what a dashing figure! You look fantastic!! Miles – your camera is really good and the lens was cleaned so well by all that choppy water…

The camera never lies Cathie, with a little soft focus and subtle lighting I reckon I can make anyone look gorgeous. Just look at that photo of Michael, what a hunk — two pretty birds literally lapping it up out of the palm of his hand 🙂

Fantastic effort girls, and how clever of you to bring your caps. I presume you swam from Julie’s to Shelly before you carried on walking through North Head to Balmoral. Girls, seriously. What an amazing feat!!
Well done to you and the Kindred Spirits!
