Well here we are; a new year with newly made resolutions. January is a perfect time to hit the Reset button to start afresh.
Some things don’t change – which is good! The familiarity of the point is the sight that heralds the morning swim, the company of good friends, and the comedy acts around B&B central.
If you are on the beach today, watch out for Kerry – it’s her first day on patrol!
Henrietta is doing a wonderful job welcoming all the new swimmers.
Holiday time provides Clare with the wonderful opportunity to swim with her girls.
Bruce and Rob – both keen regular swimmers – enjoy the ambience of the summer swims.
How gorgeous is this magic smile!
Jeff wants to be sure he wishes everyone a happy New Year!
These three are in pursuit of the very stylish Triple Badge
Today’s birthday boy was trying to keep a low profile. . .
But we just love singing Happy Birthday – especially when there are two birthdays to celebrate! Happy Birthday Nicky and Graham.
Conditions were perfect this morning for all the swims – single, double, triple and 6km.
I spotted this lovely Cat Fish just off Shelly this morning. They have the cutest blue eyes.
Lucy, Brad and Millie hung around to welcome all the swimmers back to Manly.
The fun of summer swims is the enticement of testing your boundaries with the myriad of new swims!
Should you have bumped into Rainer after the swim, he may have casually mentioned doing a triple. . .
Have a wonderful Saturday.
Mary
Summer Badges
More badges just for the Summer months:
You all know about the 6 km summer badge swims. These are on every Saturday during summer.
There is one 10 km swim each month over Summer 2015/16. Watch the blog for details of the next 10 km swim.
The new badge, the Shelly Triple, involves a triple lap of Cabbage Tree Bay (ie swim between Shelly Beach and the point three times – total 3.5 km). This swim can be completed any day and should be logged on the i-log system. Since this is designed for those who are unable (or unwilling) to do the longer swims, this badge is only available to those who haven’t completed a 6 km or 10 km swim during the season and really want the pretty pink badge.
2016 Calendars are HERE!!
The 2016 B&B calendars are now on sale. Get your copy from Ian or management standin, any day at the swim, or order online HERE. This year the calendars are even more impressive in a larger A3 format, all for the same cost as last year – just $15 each.
Staying safe
Remember that there are no badges for scaring yourself silly!
While it is great to extend your boundaries, it is important to know your limits. Also, if you have a bit more experience, keep an eye out for new swimmers who might need company. Do read these excellent tips on staying safe in the surf. To read, or even download, click here.

Great photos Mary!
Thanks for joining me and grandpa Jeff for the triple this morning. He doesn’t get out much these days, and swimming with us made his day.
Congrats to all sixteen 6k swimmers this morning!

Nice to have you blogging again Mary! Looks a lovely swim. Great photos. My favourite is Kerry and Jim. It’s Leisa Barry’s and John Lehman’s 500 km swim tomorrow. Remember to be on hand for the arch guys!
