Have you noticed how with music the point isn’t to get to the end of the song.
No one starts a song just so they can finish it, tick it off, and get to the next song.
To do so would be to miss the point of music.
Where was your intention out in the water today? On finishing the swim?
Did you suspend your joy until you ‘got there’, or were you with it all the way?
The point of the music is to enjoy its happening, to be moved, whilst the song is playing…
Swim a symphony.
Many thanks to LaineyLoo for the wonderful photos (click to enlarge).
Kind Regards,
Andrew ‘Magichands’ Maher

Long Summer Swims
6km swim every Saturday and on 13 February there is a 10 km swim. There’s a badge for these.
If you want to do a VERY slow 10 km swim, there will be some slower swimmers at the back of the swim group on 13th Feb
Remember that there are no badges for scaring yourself silly! While it is great to extend your boundaries, it is important to know your limits. Also, if you have a bit more experience, keep an eye out for new swimmers who might need company. Do read these excellent tips on staying safe in the surf. To read, or even download, click here.

I enjoyed every second of my snorkel/swim to halfway and back today amongst such beautiful marine life. I didn’t have time to go all the way so missed Dusky Whalers, Eagle Rays and Numbfish… What did other swimmers see? I swam a symphony 🙂
I must recommend our lovely blogger Andrew. I felt like a cripple on Saturday morning but ‘Magic Hands’ saw me for an hour and I am almost free from pain and walking again. You must visit him or spread the word.
Simone Grout has also asked me to ask if any ‘Clubbies’ can volunteer on Cole Classic Day on Sunday as they are short.
So happy clear water and fish are back!

Thanks Elaine – any keen people not swimming would be welcome – we need bag minders, fruit and water handouts, tag removers etc between 0600 – 1400.
Please email grouts@bigpond.net.au if you would like to help stating your preferred time. If you want to be with a friend I’ll put you together.
Thanks in advance

Hi Elizabeth – are you planning a slow 6km swim this Saturday to prepare for the 10km swim? If so I’d be happy to try the shorter distance so I know that I’m not too slow . . . .
